Our Ministry

The Chinese Association of Newfoundland and Labrador Annual Flower Service will take place on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the Chinese Memorial Monument Site, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, James Lane. All are welcome as we gather to remember and honor our ancestors and the Chinese pioneers who helped build our community. This annual gathering is a special opportunity for us to pay tribute to those who came before us, reflect on their sacrifices and contributions, and preserve their legacy for future generations. Your presence helps strengthen the bonds of our community and ensures that their memories continue to live on.” The Memorial Service will begin at the Chinese Memorial Monument Site and will be led by Rev. Karen Thorne from Gower Street United Church.

Bulletin Dedications: The Worship and Sacraments Committee invites members of our faith community to help with the cost of printing weekly bulletins. It costs us approximately $15.00 to have color-printed bulletin covers. You may dedicate a bulletin of any Sunday in memory of a loved one, in celebration of a significant event, or in celebration of a life's milestone. The name of Memoriam/Celebration/Milestone and Donor will appear in the bulletin on the specified Sunday. Please forward any donations to the church office and contact Felyn, the office administrator, during office hours via email (gsuc@nl.rogers.com) or phone 709-753-7286 ext. 200.

Our Community

CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind) is looking for volunteers to join its Vision Mate Program, and we would love your help spreading the word! Looking for a rewarding way to give back while making a genuine connection in your community? The CNIB Vision Mate Program is an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact with a commitment of just one to two hours per week. As a volunteer, you'll be matched with a person who is blind or has low vision, helping them stay connected, engaged, and active in their community. Whether you're sharing a conversation over coffee, attending a local event, or exploring a new activity together, you'll be building a meaningful friendship while helping someone gain confidence and independence. It's a fun, flexible, and inspiring volunteer experience that changes lives, including your own. Join the CNIB Vision Mate Program and discover how just a little of your time can make a world of difference.
