Recent Earthquakes in Colombia and in Venezuela, have brought untold suffering to families in the loss of loved ones, homes and livelihoods. As one family of God we feel their suffering. Let us join together to help them through a Fundraising Concert at Teresa’s Church, Mundy Pond Rd. Sunday, September 13, 3:00 p.m.
Tickets: $20 can be purchased at the door or at St Teresa’s Parish Office.
Wesley United Church Thrift Shop: Wesley United Church Thrift Shop (corner of Patrick Street & Hamilton Avenue) is now accepting donations of new and gently used clothing as well as household goods and small appliances in preparation for the reopening of the Thrift Shop which will be announced soon. St. David's Presbyterian Church: The fourth season of the St. David's "Music in the Hall" Concert Series continues with an instrumental classical concert that will be held in our Sanctuary. This performance will feature masterful artists: Dominic Greene - Violinist, Theo Weber - Cellist and Brian Way - Pianist and Music Director. Please consider joining us for a concert of solo selections and string chamber music works.

The Turning Tides: Music of Sea Service & Spirit, featuring the Stadacona Band of the Royal Canadian Navy, September 17th, 7 pm at the Arts and Culture Centre. Special guests are the Royal Newfoundland Regiment Band. Admission is free.

Thanksgiving Vegetable Hamper
First United Church, Mount Pearl will be selling Thanksgiving Vegetable Hampers 12-15lb for $20.00 - Hampers will include: potato, carrot, turnip and cabbage. Orders will be delivered to the church Trinity Hall, the week of October 5 -8, 2026. You will be notified with pickup times as we get closer to the date. Hampers not picked up by Friday October 9, 2026 - 4pm will be donated.
Order form needs to be returned with money to the church by Friday September 18, 2026.
The Twelve Steps: A Spiritual Journey is a program offered at The Lantern on Barnes Road. The original Twelve Steps were designed by Alcoholics Anonymous and have been adapted to meet the needs of people who struggle with other substances and personal challenges. Many of the steps are based on biblical concepts such as honesty, admitting wrongs and surrendering to the God of one’s belief. There is no fee for attending. A program workbook can be purchased at the sessions. Some past participants have said this program helped them to deepen to their faith and renew their relationship with God and others. Cowan Heights United Church: Darrin Martin will be performing at the Cowan Heights United Church on Friday October 16th at 7pm; tickets go on sale in September so be sure to mark your calendars now! Darrin is a well-known performer and musician throughout Newfoundland/Labrador and Nova Scotia. These days he can be seen (and heard!) performing with Spirit of Newfoundland Productions (since 2004), Our Divas Do Christmas, Sheila Williams Productions and at a variety of events throughout our beautiful province. Darrin is also a full-time visual artist (this poster features a piece by Darrin himself)! He and his wife, Georgina, operate the studio and gallery known as NorthSide Studios NL. Together they homeschool their three daughters, Grace, Faith and Hope. Add in a zoo of pets, and you have the formula for a very colourful life!
